State Seeks The Associated Press WASHINGTON Florida Comptroller Gerald Lewis says there is a good chance the federal government will award a $600,000 grant to help finance a state probe of landsecurities fraud. Lewis hand-delivered the state's application for the funds to Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA) officials. He later told reporters LEAA promised to give the application high priority and chances appeared good that it would be approved. Lewis said the federal money, to be matched with $60,000 in state funds, is needed to beef up an ongoing investigation of a multi-million dollar land fraud in Florida. The money would go to a combined state-local task force, Lewis said.

On a nonrelated matter, Lewis announced tentative agreement has been reached with federal officials to protect state-chartered banks seeking to open branches. Under a new Florida law, such branches may be opened after Jan. 1, $600,000 For 1977. An investment which grows with interest that's compounded daily, year-in and year-out. That investment is a savings account at Coral Gables Federal. For instance, an investment in a flexible passbook account, if left undisturbed, will double itself in just under 14 years. This is the one investment we know of that will quarantee this kind of growth. And, you can make your passbook investment grow even faster with regular deposits- as much as you want, whenever you want.

The more you increase your savings, the more your interest grows, too. Year-in, year-out, you just can't beat interest rates compounded daily. In addition, your investment is insured to $40,000 by an agency of the federal government. No other investment provides this kind of growth, protection and security. To find out how your savings can grow at Coral Gables Federal, study the chart below.

And, to find out more about the many types of savings investments you can make at CGF, see one of the savings counselors at any of our conveniently located offices in Dade, Broward or Palm Beach Counties. You'll be glad you did. Here's how your savings investment grows. Deposit 3 Yr. Value 6 Yr.
