Bogart, who had been in and out of the hospital since kidney surgery a year ago, died Saturday of cancer the Ohio Express. When he quit as general manager at Buddha, he came to Los Angeles to launch Casablanca Records and Filmworks, where he started promoting an obscure hard rock group called Kiss and found Donna Summer, an obscure American singer living in Europe. Two years ago he started Boardboard Entertainment with partners Peter Guber and Jon Peters, launching such artists as Joan Jett to No. 1 record status.

He is survived by his wife, a three sons, his parents, a sister.and two brothers: Mac Davis, Paul Anka, Cher, Ringo Starr, Rodney Dangerfield, Sha Na Na and Joan Jett. He began as a singer, scoring his one and only hit record with the tune Bobby, worked for a time as a promotion man, then was named head of Cameo-Parkway Records when he was 25 and was nicknamed "The Kid." Skidmore Partners-Licensed Florida Funeral Directors Services will be Tuesday for Charles Easton Foertmeyer, a 35-year Broward resident who was involved in youth and church activities. Foertmeyer, of 3411 SW 27th southwest of Fort Lauderdale, died Friday following an extended illness. He was 53. A native of Cincinnati, he had lived in Broward since He was a field engineer for National Cash Register for more than 30 years.

Foertmeyer belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and was a former deacon of Sunset Presbyterian Church. He also directed the Sunset Little League and the Cub Scouts. A graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School in the class of 1948, he attended Florida State University. Foertmeyer is survived by his widow, Marilyn a daughter, Patricia Lanni; two sons, Thomas and Ronald, and a grandson, Steven, all of Fort Lauderdale; and a sister, Ruth Julian of Las Vegas.
