63 Sun-Sentinel, Sunday, October 24, 1993 PB OBlYUARlliS M. Berryhill, Lauderdale founding family member HILBERT Robert Jr, 54. of Coral Gabies, passed sway Friday, October 22, 1993. Mr. Hubert had been a resident here since 1962 coming from Philadelphia and West Palm Beach.

He was the beloved husband of Betsy; loving father of Miriam HUbert of Gainesville, FL; dear son of, Marie Hilbert of West Palm Beach; and cherished brother-in-law of, Marilyn Sokolof and Muriel Cohen. He served for 22 years as Audio-Visual Director at Miami-Dade Community College. He was a leading collector of jazz recordings as well as President of the International Association of Jazz Record Collectors. He was also a noted critic and author of several books on jazz, was the owner of Pumpkin Records, and was a founder of the Jazz Collectors Society of South Florida. Memorial Services will be Sunday 10:30 AM at the residence for family and friends.

By LANE KELLEY Staff Writer Mary Elizabeth Berryhill, a member of one of Fort Lauderdale's founding families, died on Friday of cancer. Berryhill, the widow of attorney Thomas 0. Berryhill, had lived in the city since 1925. She was born March 25, 1908, in Etowah, Tenn.

Her husband, who died in 1978, served as Fort Lauderdale's city attorney in the 1940s and 1950s. Her father-in-law, W.O. Berryhill, was one of Fort Lauderdale's first settlers. After coming here at the turn of the century, he served as Broward County's tax collector for 33 years. NEWMAN Rose.
