Phil A. Longo, well-known in local theatrical circles, has been named manager of the new department, it was announced by Joseph Lantzy, Bob Cooper and Lou Tafuri, owners and producers of ACTS. None of the big shows will accept a manuscript unless it is submitted by an agent. Some do buy scripts from writers who havent as yet established a "big name," but dealings are never carried on direct. A network won't read a script unless the author signs a "release," which clears the network of any possible plagiarism charge, should a similar story be in the works for one of its shows.
