Acquisition of the property for the inn was arranged by L. C. Judd and responsible for the development of most of the Harbor Beach residential area. A new 19-story hotel skyscraper is presently being added to the vast Pier 66 complex on the north side of 17th St. Causeway.

The Pier 66 Tower Hotel, as it's called, will feature 13 floors of guest rooms and will have complete convention and banquet facilities to accommodate 1,000 persons. REVOLVES It will be topped off with a revolving glass-enclosed cocktail lounge which will turn at the rate of one revolution per hour to provide guests with different views of the area. The Tower Hotel will add 156 rooms to Pier 66's present 102 rooms. Further east, work on a new garden-type cooperative apartment development is nearing completion. a swimming pool, sells for $16,990.

The model's kitchen offers custom-built cabinets with separate pantry closet, luminous ceiling and a full view of the screened patio area through a pass-through, six-foot sliding glass window. There is a combination family breakfast room in the home. Among the features of the "Sunbeam" is a sunken living room set aside from the line of traffic. The kitchens in all models contain the latest Hotpoint built-in eye-level oven ranges. Homes also include entrance foyers, marble window sills, master bedroom suites with dressing rooms and Roman type ceramic tile showers.

Roofed screened porches come with plastered ceilings and marble terrazzo floors. To eliminate dirt and sand sifting through the lower part of the screening, masonry block walls enclose the perimeter of the porches. CONTINUES Rainbow Homes is continuing its policy of offering a two-year warranty on each home, Leonard R. Turner, president of the firm, emphasized. Other models available at the Rainbow homes venture are the $11,690 "Sunstream," with two bedrooms and two baths; the $12,390 "Sundial," two bedrooms and two baths, and the $12,790 "Nova," three bedrooms and two baths.

Rainbow Homes is presently building in two other areas beside Lauderdale Lakes. The firm has completed 250 homes in Deerfield Beach and 170 residences in Delray Beach. All of its ventures feature sections designed primarily for retirees as well as for families with children. Known as the Lake Mayan Apartments, the $700,000 co-op is located at the south end of Mayan Lake, north of the huge Breakwater Towers. The three-story structure contains 63 apartments 21 on each floor, according to the developer, Investment Corp.

The huge aquarium will be located on the north side of 17th St. Causeway, across from entrance to Port Everglades. The 8.2-acre property extends north to the Seminole River. A three-story show tank, a shark moat, display tanks for salt water specimens, a manatee tank and a restaurant are among facilities planned for the aquarium, it was explained. Lauderdale Board of Realtors reported today. Real estate sales totaled $5,566,810 during the past period less than seven $7,050.817 racked up in the corresponding week of 1963. However, the current year's realty sales are still well out ahead of last year's pace.

Thus far in 1964, county real estate sales have reached $268,370,020. The same period of 1693 saw a figure of 204,772 posted, while 640 was recorded for the comparable period of 1962. County mortgages totaled only $5,103,278 in the past week down from the 000 racked up in the corresponding week of 1963. The same week of 1962 saw mortgages amount to $5,803,919. To date this year, mortgages have climbed to 192,482 as compared to a figure of $246,515,821 for the same period of 1963.

The same period of 1962 saw mortgages come to $238,496,508. Construction in Ft. Lauderdale continues to roll along, with this year's building permits far out in front of the 1963 pace. The realtor board said that city permits total 51.875,878 SO far this year.
